On Thursday, the Republic Swimming Championship started at the Grand Holiday Villa Hotel in Khartoum, with the participation of the states of Al-Jazeera and the Red Sea and seven clubs (Al-Hilal, Al-Bahriya, Family, Nojoom Bahri, Al-Safia, Khartoum Water Games and Al-Hadaf), while the Northern State was absent from participating despite its confirmation.
The tournament witnesses a wide participation of the junior categories of both sexes, and the general category for men and women.
Amer Al-Babour, head of the Sudanese Football Association’s Training Committee, said that the number of male and female swimmers participating in the tournament from the combined categories exceeds (160) competitors.
